Historical Research

In addition to fieldwork, the Society carries out research into the history of excavation sites. Two books on the history of Fast Castle place the excavations there in an historical perspective. Also, see below for publications on Cramond.  Further information can be found on the Cramond Heritage Trust’s page www.cramondheritagetrust.org.uk.  Ann Kerrigan leads our research team, searching though a huge range of archives and online sources to inform the archaeological excavations and produce as comprehensive a history as possible, with current focus on the Cammo Estate.  Her work will be written up in due course.

Library

The society has a small library containing a wide range of material of archaeological interest. Loans from this are available to all members.
