Outings for EAFS members are arranged two or three times a year. Past visits have been made to Old Melrose, National Trust for Scotland Conservation laboratory, Mavisbank House and grounds, and the Granton repository of the National Museum of Scotland amongst others. Of particular interest was a visit to Pinkie House with its stunning painted ceiling, part of Loretto School in Musselburgh. A guided walk round sites in Edinburgh associated with Alexander Campbell of Cammo and a trip to St. Mary’s Church, Dalmahoy, which has strong links to Helen Watson, the last of the Watsons to inherit Cammo were relevant to our ongoing research. More recently, Chris Fleet gave us a very interesting talk at the NLS map library on historic maps and plans of the Cammo area.
