We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect. We believe that diversity enriches our insights, broadens our understanding, and deepens the impact of our work. Our commitment to equality recognises the strength that comes from diverse backgrounds, abilities, perspectives, and experiences to uncover our shared histories through community archaeology.
We strive to create a welcoming and supportive community where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute to archaeological practice. We are dedicated to ensuring that all members, volunteers, and third-party participants have equal access to opportunities and resources within our control, promoting fairness and challenging barriers to participation in archaeology.
Our ongoing efforts include actively seeking out and encouraging participation from the local community. Also we endeavour to encourage broader representation from students and other interested persons. We will continually evaluate our practices to improve our approach to developing community archaeology. We recognise that embracing diversity is not a static goal but a dynamic process of continuous improvement and cultural growth.
Through these actions, we uphold our commitment to making any experience with the Edinburgh Archaeological Field Society a place where everyone can thrive and contribute to the richness of archaeological exploration and discovery. Through these experiences we can hopefully create pathways to contribute to self-identity where everyone can find a place within their own history discovered through archaeological endeavours with us.
